Dr. Cotugno believes that a therapeutic counseling environment should emphasize a detailed understanding of all the issues impacting the client, family, and involved systems. A careful and precise plan is then considered and implemented that will address and remediate the issues and concerns raised. Ongoing monitoring will adjust and modify the plan as needed. Finally, direct assessment and feedback are regularly provided in order to understand and evaluate progress.
